As the exchange between Japan and Korea becomes ever broader in the 21st century
the aim of the Department of Japanese Language and Literature is to cultivate global individuals who will be able to recognize and distinguish the ever growing world trends. With the establishment of this department in 1992, students have been able to learn about Japanese culture through the convergence of Japanese linguistics and literature.
