体育系的教育目标在于，
培养运动或体育领域的专业人才。为了实现这一目标，体育系细分为体育统计研究、体育测量评价研究、体育学研究法等的基础共同领域和体育经营学研究、运动社会学专题讲座、运动控制研究等的人文社会领域以及运动生理学专题讲座、生物体力学专题讲座等的自然科学领域，探索体育现场和学术领域全面的理论和方法，以致力培养与此有关的专家。
