and has promoted the development of basic life sciences, medicine and health sciences. In modern societies, increased interest in quality of life and health continues to increase the people's demand for health and welfare services. The Department of Health Science approaches the relationship between intrinsic life phenomena and the environment based on the basic science of life science and the applied science of health science, which deals with human health problems. The graduate school of this department aims to cultivate competent human resources with expertise in health and medical life science through the theory and practical field experience in the fields of health and medical life science.

Life science, the basic field of health science, is the field that scientifically explores the basic principles of human life phenomena, students will understand basic knowledge of physiology, heredity, environment, etc. of animals, plants, and microorganisms in the biological system, and learn biochemical principles, molecular characteristics, and research methods. The department trains talented people who understands the basic principles of life and has the problem solving ability which can be applied to biological industry such as food, energy, environment, food, medicine, etc. through the education of theory and creativity in preparation for the biological information and post-genome era required for modern life science.
