研究服装材料的物理化学性质和开发功能性新材料，并研究东西方服装的历史和美学、时尚文化和美学、服装设计开发、使用数字媒体的创意设计、时尚文化和美学、与服装生产过程相关的体型分析和开发CAD模式以及调查和分析消费者行为、时尚营销策略等，从而为纺织服装业所面临的第四次工业革命培养未来的人力资源。
