美术系的教育目标在于，
以技艺和学术为基础净化人类，在文明社会的前沿唤醒引领时代的睿智，深化艺术创作的表现世界，发挥创造文化艺术的引领作用。
为了实现这些目标，在韩国画、西洋画、雕塑和美术史学领域将提高造型艺术的样式和原理、美术史、美术批评的专业性，并探索和创造每个专业的表现技术、材料开发和理论。此外，对于现代美术的新形式和多元化形式，将忠实于寻求现代性等美术课程内容，以尽全力达到其教育目标。
