国语国文系设立于1979年，教育课程由国语学，现代文学，古典文学等三个领域组成。
国语学是研究韩国语的语法与变迁的学问 现代文学是一门就从近代到当代的各种体裁的文学作品进行研究和批评、创作的学问。此外古典文学包括汉文学和口碑文学，是掌握传统文学的实体，确立为文化史上的地位的学问。国语国文系把此三个领域的文学进行有机地研究，同时探索广泛的应用方案，继续进行民族文化发展事业。
