本系的目标在于，让学生用历史性、系统性方法探求东西方伟大的哲学思想，
提高合理性思考和主体性认识能力，具备对世界和人类的理解和实践意志。为了达成上述目标，我们通过高强度的训练，培养出在思考、语言、行动等所有方面都具备优秀实力的人才，以及学问、人格两方面都卓越的人才。本系开设有多样的讲座和学术巡礼、研讨会、讨论会，学生可以以此为基础，毕业后进入学界、教育界、媒体界、政界、实业界等多样的领域，在各领域担当指导性角色。
