信息通信工程系设立于1998年，
目的在于培养出能够积极应对日新月异的IT领域环境的人才。为了培养优秀的信息通讯工程师，集中实施信息通讯领域所需要的基本理论及实务能力教育。尤其，集中于与第四次工业革命有关的5G移动通信、人工智能、物联网（Internetof Things：IoT)、云（Cloud）、大数据（Big Data）相关领域和应用技术领域的教育和研发。每个教授都运营研究室，从而构建了教授和学生一起学习并讨论研究开发的环境。另外，以实习及设计为中心安排课程，拥有可在毕业后现场使用的尖端设备，并运营与此相关技术的教育项目。
