The Department of Physics opened its doors in 1984 and established
its master's program and doctoral program in 1991 and 1999, respectively. In order to further educate teachers of physics and to foster new teachers, the physics major was introduced to the Graduate School of Education in 1994. The department aims to cultivate talented people who will conduct research in physics and related fields.
