The educational goal of the Department of Food

and Nutrition is to cultivate food and nutrition professionals by covering the latest theories and research methods in the fields of food science and nutrition, and their applications in order to promote health and rational diet of the people.

In the food science field, students will study the latest theories of food systems, the necessity of new food development, quality evaluation standards and processing processes, and deal with the latest information on environmental pollution and food safety.

In the field of nutrition, students will deal with the latest information on nutrition and biochemistry, learn the relationship between nutrition intake and disease patterns in Korea, and also study the changes in physiology and metabolism according to human growth and aging. The department also promotes the nutrition and health of the community by teaching them on how to apply these theories in the field and their functions as nutrition counselors.
