HOME Academics Graduate Engineering

The modern industry continues to pursue the goals of efficiency improvement,

economic efficiency improvement, and pollution reduction. In order to achieve these goals, it is constantly required to improve the characteristics of existing materials, develop more economical processing methods, and develop graduate schools with new characteristics.

Materials engineering is a study of materials, which are fundamental elements of all industrial facilities, and should be prepared to meet these demands.Due to this academic necessity, mainly targeting metal materials and ceramics which are most used in all industries, the department aims to make students acquire in-depth knowledge and experience through structure and defects of solid materials, thermodynamics, phase transformation, heat treatment, solidification and casting, surface treatment, mechanical and electromagnetic properties, as well as completion of major subjects and thesis research in related fields and to cultivate advanced technical personnel who can apply this acquired knowledge and experience to related industries and advanced brains who can take charge of academic research and education in the field of materials engineering.

In addition, students cultivate qualities and abilities which can share their experiences and knowledge of their specialty with people from all over the world through international exchanges, co-exist side by side with them, and contribute greatly to the development of their country and community.
