최근 몇 년간 U-TOPIA 연구실은 대규모 언어 모델(LLM, Large Language Model)과 검색 강화 생성(RAG, Retrieval-Augmented Generation) 기술에 중점을 둔 인공지능(AI) 분야로 연구 영역을 확장해 나가고 있다. 이 연구는 자연어 이해, 지식 검색, 문맥 추론을 통합하여 더 지능적이고 적응력이 있어 인간과 유사한 계산 시스템을 구축하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구실은 데이터 기반 의사 결정 지원, 지능형 정보 검색, 자동화된 지식 관리 시스템 등 다양한 영역에 대규모 언어 모델과 검색 강화 생성 기술을 적용하는 방안을 연구하고 있다. 이를 통해 U-TOPIA 연구실은 대규모 사전 훈련된 모델의 강점과 동적으로 생성되는 최신 지식 소스를 결합하여 정확한 설명과 더불어 맥락을 인지하는 응답을 제공할 수 있는 차세대 인공지능 프레임워크 연구 개발을 추진하고자 한다.

In recent years, U-TOPIA has also expanded its research domain into the field of Artificial Intelligence(AI), with a particular focus on Large Language Model(LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation(RAG) technologies. This research aims to explore the integration of natural language understanding, knowledge retrieval, and contextual reasoning to create more intelligent, adaptive, and human-like computational systems. U-TOPIA laboratory is investigating how LLM and RAG can be applied across diverse domains such as data-driven decision support, intelligent information retrieval, and automated knowledge management systems. Through this research, U-TOPIA seeks to contribute to the advancement of next-generation AI frameworks capable of providing accurate, explainable, and context-aware responses by combining the strengths of large-scale pre-trained models with dynamic up-to-date knowledge sources.
